Introducing Gorilla Brakes' New Brake Pad Recycling Program: Earn £1 Credit While Helping the Environment

At Gorilla Brakes, we're passionate about creating high-performance products for cyclists while doing our part to protect the planet. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new Brake Pad Recycling Program! Not only can you help reduce waste, but you'll also earn a £1 credit towards your next purchase with every set of used brake pads you return. Read on to find out how you can get involved and help us hit our goal of recycling 1 ton of steel in the first year.

Why Recycle Brake Pads?

Brake pads are a vital part of any bike, but when they wear out, they often end up in landfills, contributing to environmental waste. At Gorilla Brakes, we’re committed to sustainability, and we’ve partnered with a recycling company to make sure the steel from your old brake pads is put to good use.

Our goal? To recycle 1 ton of steel in our first year. With each brake pad weighing about 30 grams, that means we need to collect 33,333 brake pads! And with your help, we believe we can do it.

How It Works: Simple and Hassle-Free

We’ve designed our recycling program to be as easy as possible. Here’s how it works:

  1. Receive a Return Label: When you purchase any Gorilla Brakes product, you’ll receive a sticky label inside the package.
  2. Reuse the Packaging: After installing your new brake pads, simply place your old ones back into the same envelope the new ones came in.
  3. Send Back Your Old Pads: Stick the provided label on the front of the envelope and drop it in the post – we’ve partnered with Royal Mail to make this process seamless.
  4. Get Your £1 Credit: For every set of brake pads you return, we’ll add £1 credit to your account, which you can use towards your next purchase.

It’s that easy! Plus, you’ll be making a direct contribution to reducing waste and supporting a greener planet.

What Happens to the Recycled Brake Pads?

Once your brake pads are returned to us, they’re sent to our recycling partner. The steel components are extracted and processed, ready to be repurposed and given a new life in other industries. Not only are we reducing landfill waste, but we’re also putting valuable materials back into the economy.

The Benefits of Recycling with Gorilla Brakes

  • Earn £1 Credit: For every set of brake pads you return, you’ll receive a £1 credit towards your next order. This is our way of thanking you for helping us make a positive impact.
  • Environmental Impact: By recycling your old brake pads, you’re helping to reduce waste and conserve resources. It’s a win-win for you and the environment!
  • Hassle-Free Process: We’ve made the recycling process as simple as possible. Just pop the pads back in the same envelope your new pads arrived in, stick the label on, and you’re good to go.

Tracking Our Progress

We’re committed to transparency, and we’ll be tracking our progress towards our goal of recycling 1 ton of steel. We’ll regularly update you on how many brake pads we’ve recycled and the environmental impact we’ve made together.
