Choosing Sintered

Sintered is a good choice for cold, wet and muddy riding. It generates substantial heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, we recommend Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds.

The Performance range is for conventional bicycles. For electric bikes, compare the e-bike-rated Enduro Pro and Factory Racing options; for heavy cargo or demanding descents, start with Ultimate Orange or Semi Metallic Blue.

TRP Compatible Sintered Brake Pads FAQs

A little help with fitment, compounds and getting ready to ride.

How do I select the correct pad for TRP?

Use the complete TRP caliper model and pad reference. Q20.11, SP10.11 and F10.11 identify different fitments; match the product rather than selecting by TRP alone. Check the selected product’s exact compatibility before ordering.

When should I consider Sintered?

Sintered is a good choice for cold, wet and muddy riding. It generates substantial heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, we recommend Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds.

Do the standard Sintered pads have cooling fins?

No. Gorilla Brakes standard Sintered pads do not have cooling fins. Separate finned products must be checked by their own caliper compatibility; the compound name alone does not establish fitment.

How should I prepare the rotor and bed in new pads?

Check the rotor’s condition, wear limit and permitted pad material. Follow the installation instructions for your caliper and our bedding-in guide, including rotor preparation when changing compounds.
