PROMAX Brake Pads

Find Gorilla Brakes pads listed for Promax DSK Decipher and Render / Render R. Match the full caliper name and old pad outline before choosing Sintered or Semi-Metallic. No exact DSK model numbers have been confirmed, so do not select by an assumed DSK number.

Check fitment and compatible models

Our pads are compatible with common ProMax hydraulic and mechanical disc brake systems used on hybrid bikes, commuter bikes, entry-level MTBs, and e-MTB applications.

Choose your compound

Sintered is a good choice for cold, wet and muddy riding. It generates substantial heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, we recommend Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds. Semi-Metallic is a versatile everyday option for commuting, road, gravel and lighter trails on conventional bicycles.

Choose only the compounds offered for this exact fitment. These Performance options are for conventional bicycles. If you need an e-bike or heavy-load recommendation for this caliper, contact us with the model before ordering.

PROMAX Brake Pads FAQs

A little help with fitment, compounds and getting ready to ride.

How do I identify the Promax pad without an exact DSK number?

Use the Decipher, Render or Render R model information and compare the product’s pad outline. No exact DSK numbers have been confirmed. Promax specifies an Avid BB5-compatible shape for Render and Render R, which are mechanical brakes. All hydraulic fitments for this listing are confirmed as two-piston.

Which of the available compounds should I compare?

Sintered is a good choice for cold, wet and muddy riding. It generates substantial heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, we recommend Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds. Semi-Metallic is a versatile everyday option for commuting, road, gravel and lighter trails on conventional bicycles.

How should I prepare the rotor and bed in new pads?

Check the rotor’s condition, wear limit and permitted pad material. Follow the installation instructions for your caliper and our bedding-in guide, including rotor preparation when changing compounds.

What if I cannot identify the exact caliper or pad?

Send Gorilla Brakes a clear photo of the caliper markings and both sides of the old pad, with its dimensions if possible. We can help establish the pad shape before you choose a compound.
