For e-bikes, heavy cargo or demanding descents, choose between Enduro Pro Ultimate Orange for braking performance and pad life, and Enduro Pro Semi Metallic Blue for versatile braking and heat management. Check the exact E4 / RX4+ product compatibility; these recommendations do not establish RX4-SR fitment.

For conventional road and gravel bikes, compare Factory Racing Organic for dry conditions or Sintered for wet and muddy riding. The comparison guide explains the other compounds and their recommended uses. Factory Racing Organic can wear very quickly in wet and muddy conditions. Sintered generates substantial heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, we recommend Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds.

Do all these pads fit both the original RX4 and RX4+?

No. Original RX4-SR calipers for SRAM systems use HBSP359; E4, RX4+ and original RX4-SH calipers use the separate HBSP323 family. Original RX4-SR pads do not fit E4, RX4+ or RX4-SH. Hope lists a 31 mm reference width for HBSP359. Match the exact version and pad outline.

Which pads fit Tech 3 E4 and Tech 4 E4?

Choose a product that lists Tech 3 E4 or Tech 4 E4 in the HBSP323 family. The original RX4-SR / HBSP359 products are not E4 pads. Check the E4 marking on the caliper; the Tech lever name alone is not enough.

Which compound should I choose for an e-MTB with E4 brakes?

Our guide recommends Enduro Pro Ultimate Orange and Enduro Pro Semi Metallic Blue for demanding e-bike use and long descents. Select the product that lists your E4 caliper and check that the complete brake setup is appropriate for your bike and total load.

Can I use these pads on a road or gravel bike with RX4 brakes?

Choose by the exact RX4 version: original RX4-SR (SRAM) requires HBSP359, while original RX4-SH and RX4+ use the HBSP323 family. Then compare the compounds available in that shape for your riding conditions. For an electric road or gravel bike, check the recommendation for that exact product and complete brake setup.

How should I install and bed in the replacement pads?

Follow Hope's instructions for your exact caliper and our installation and bedding-in guides. Check the required tools and pad-retention parts before starting. Inspect the rotor and confirm its compatibility with the selected compound before bedding in the new pads.
