Compound choice and heat

Sintered pads generate a lot of heat, which can transfer to the caliper faster than with other compounds in our range. For high-heat applications, Gorilla Brakes recommends the Enduro Pro and Factory Racing compounds. Choose the compound and rotor for your route, bike and total load.

Rotor compatibility

Use Sintered pads only with rotors approved for metallic or sintered pads. Do not use them with rotors marked “resin pads only”.

Rotor diameter and thickness must meet your brake manufacturer’s specifications. Check rotor condition and minimum permitted thickness before fitting new pads.

Why some curves stop earlier

Each test run stopped when the measured caliper temperature reached 120°C, the stopping threshold used to protect the piston seals in this test setup. The horizontal axis shows rotor temperature. Sintered’s shorter curve means the caliper reached the limit at a lower rotor temperature.
