Meet Daisy Jackson – Gorilla Brakes Supported Rider
Young downhill MTB rider Daisy Jackson joins Gorilla Brakes as she chases national races, World Cup dreams and progression in UK downhill mountain biking.
At Gorilla Brakes we’re passionate about supporting riders who genuinely love riding bikes, pushing themselves and helping grow the sport and that’s exactly why we’re excited to welcome Daisy Jackson to the Gorilla Brakes rider programme.
Daisy is one of the UK’s upcoming young downhill riders and is already making a serious impression in the sport despite only recently stepping into national-level racing.
Currently riding a Specialized Enduro and racing as a first-year junior rider, Daisy has already achieved:
- 1st place at Windhill Race
- 2nd place at MIJ Round One 2026
- 4th place at the Lloyds National Downhill Round 2
- 1st place at Windhill Jam Dual Slalom
All while balancing training, riding and building her social media presence within the MTB community.
“My Dad Got Me Into Mountain Biking”
Like many riders, Daisy’s journey into mountain biking started simply with riding bikes alongside family.
“My dad got me into it and we rode loads and started progressing from there and moving to new spots.”
That progression quickly evolved from local riding into downhill racing, bike parks and technical terrain.
Now Daisy spends most weekends riding downhill, enduro and jump lines while continuing to push her riding level further.
Big Goals Ahead
Despite already racing nationals, Daisy’s goals are only getting bigger.
“Get to a World Cup and race one and also get into a race team, and also get a downhill bike.”
And the long-term dream?
“Being a pro downhill racer and get podiums on World Cups. Make money from mountain biking so I can bike all day professionally.”

Inspired By The Best
When asked which riders inspire her most, Daisy listed:
- Harriet Harnden
- Asa Vermette
- Aletha Ostgaard
Favourite Place To Ride?
“Dyfi Bike Park El Hippo and Racetrack.”
Good choice.
Daisy’s Current Brake Setup
Daisy is currently using the Gorilla Brakes Factory Racing compound for her downhill and enduro riding.
For a young rider pushing technical downhill tracks, bike park laps and race weekends, consistent braking is everything. Factory Racing pads are designed for riders who want strong bite, control and predictable braking performance when riding fast, steep and rough terrain.
Daisy’s riding includes downhill racing, enduro tracks, jump lines and regular bike park sessions, making brake feel and confidence a huge part of her setup. She currently rides a Specialized Enduro while progressing towards dedicated downhill racing.
Not sure which compound is right for your bike? Use the Gorilla Brakes Pad Finder to find the best brake pads for your brake model, riding style and bike setup.
Why Gorilla Brakes?
What attracted Daisy to work with Gorilla Brakes?
“I use them a lot because they are good.”
Simple and honest exactly how we like it.
For us, the best riders to support are riders already using and believing in the products before support even starts.
Best Brake Pads For Downhill MTB Racing
Downhill mountain biking puts huge demands on brake pads. Long descents, high speeds, heavy braking zones and rough technical terrain all require pads that stay consistent under pressure.
For aggressive riders like Daisy, the right brake pad compound helps improve confidence, control and braking feel on steep tracks, race runs and bike park laps.
The Factory Racing brake pad range is a strong option for riders looking for high-performance MTB brake pads for downhill, enduro, bike park and gravity riding.
Biggest Achievement So Far
“Probably racing my first National.”
Entering national downhill racing is a huge step for any rider, especially at Daisy’s age, and it’s exciting to see where she progresses next.
With upcoming races and trips including:
- National Champs
- Ard Rock
- Dyfi trips
- Morzine
- Tignes
there’s plenty more to come.
Supporting Young Female Riders In UK Downhill MTB
Daisy is part of a growing wave of young female riders pushing into UK downhill mountain biking. As a first-year junior rider, she has already competed at national level and continues to build her confidence, speed and race experience.
At Gorilla Brakes, we’re proud to support riders who are genuinely progressing in the sport and helping inspire more riders to get involved in mountain biking.
Advice For Other Girls Getting Into MTB
“Ride with girls or people slightly better than you so you can follow them down to get faster.”
A simple but brilliant bit of advice.
Progression in mountain biking often comes from riding with people who push your confidence and speed slightly further each ride.
More Than Just Racing
Outside racing Daisy also enjoys:
- Bouldering
- Hiking
- Skiing
- Rock climbing
- Swimming
Which probably explains the strong fitness and bike control already showing through in her riding.
