New Enduro Pro Ultimate Finned Aluminium Brake Pads for Shimano Brakes
Share
Gorilla Brakes Enduro Pro Ultimate Finned Aluminium Brake Pads are now in stock for selected Shimano road, gravel, trail, enduro and e-MTB hydraulic disc brakes.
The new range combines our proven Enduro Pro Ultimate friction compound with a lightweight aluminium heat-sink backing plate and integrated cooling fins. The design is intended to move heat away from the friction material and caliper during sustained braking, helping riders maintain consistent braking performance on long or demanding descents.

What is new?
The friction compound remains the same Enduro Pro Ultimate formulation used across our established range. The difference is the backing plate: aluminium transfers heat more effectively than a conventional steel backing plate, while the cooling fins increase the available surface area.
- Proven Gorilla Brakes Enduro Pro Ultimate compound
- Lightweight finned aluminium heat-sink backing plate
- Designed to improve heat dissipation during prolonged braking
- Powerful initial bite with predictable modulation
- Wet and dry weather performance
- Copper-free and REACH compliant
- Engineered and tested in the UK

Who are finned aluminium brake pads for?
These pads are intended for riders who regularly create and manage high braking temperatures. Typical uses include alpine road descents, gravel racing, bikepacking with luggage, trail and enduro riding, bike parks, downhill riding and full-power e-MTB use.
Cooling fins do not replace correct brake setup. Rotor condition, bedding-in, caliper alignment, fluid condition and braking technique still affect braking performance.
How to confirm the correct fit
Do not order from appearance alone. Check the exact model marking printed or engraved on your brake caliper, then compare it with the compatibility list on the relevant product page.
You can also use the Gorilla Brakes Pad Finder. If you are still unsure, send clear photographs of the caliper markings and removed pads, together with the pad measurements, before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
What are finned aluminium brake pads?
They are disc brake pads with an aluminium backing plate and cooling fins. The extra surface area is designed to help move heat away from the friction material and brake caliper during sustained braking.
Do these pads use a different compound?
No. These products use the same Gorilla Brakes Enduro Pro Ultimate friction compound, combined with the new finned aluminium backing plate.
Are the finned pads suitable for e-bikes?
Yes, where the exact caliper is listed as compatible. The four-piston version is designed for demanding trail, enduro, downhill and e-MTB use, while the road version is suitable for compatible e-road and e-gravel braking systems.
Will the road version fit every Shimano road caliper?
No. It fits only the listed Shimano L-Type applications. Check the exact caliper marking before ordering.
Will the mountain bike version fit every Shimano four-piston caliper?
No. It is for the listed systems using the compatible D, H or N-Type pad profile. Check the exact caliper model and removed pad before ordering.
Are both versions available now?
Yes. Both versions are currently in stock and available to order from Gorilla Brakes.
