Now I can finally share my thoughts on these brake pads because I have thoroughly tested them at Szczyrk Bike Park by TREK.These brake pads performed absolutely status-quo-shattering. I previously used Trickstuff Power pads, and I can state with full confidence that the braking power of these is significantly better. On the downhills, they had an incredible bite into the rotors, which was completely missing with the Trickstuff pads. Even though Trickstuff offers more modulation, a sharp bite and powerful, aggressive braking are my top priorities. I have finally found the specific pads I was looking for, and I can highly recommend them—I will definitely keep coming back to them.I should also add that I previously tried Galfer Violet (purple) pads as well, and even they couldn't handle the tracks like the Gorilla pads do. Highly recommended! Ride on!

The bedding in process took longer than expected, I thought that my Magura Mt7 brakes we're a bit overhyped, yesterday without exaggeration I nearly went over the bars at the bottom of a great orme descent, I must have heated them right up!! The floating discs were making a **** of alot of noise, but wow I've never felt power like these, the nearest we're hope moto v2 vented. These pads are definitely part of a winning combination. You wont know this but I ordered the same pads for my DB8s that ill allow time to bed in. Guy's you make an excellent product. Thank you for stopping power.

Bit squealy on me front brake , however good bite and low wear on both after 2 days at BPW and 1 at Dirt Farm !!

Thanks for the feedback Great to hear the Factory Racing Stealth pads delivered good bite and low wear after two days at BikePark Wales and a day at Dirt Farm that’s a proper test!

The front brake squeal will be vibration/resonance somewhere in the braking system rather than the brake pad itself. With Magura MT5/MT7 brakes, it’s worth checking caliper alignment, piston movement and the rotor transfer layer, as any inconsistency can create noise.

For a Sur-Ron LBX running Magura MT5 or MT7 brakes, we would recommend looking at our Enduro Pro Ultimate or Sintered brake pads instead.

The Factory Racing Stealth compound is a softer, quieter compound designed more for pedal bikes and controlled braking feel. On a Sur-Ron, especially with the extra weight, power and heat generated, the MT7 caliper can wear through softer compounds much quicker.

For Sur-Ron use, the Enduro Pro Ultimate will give stronger performance, better heat resistance and longer life, while the Sintered option is the most durable but can be noisier.

The Semi-Metallic compound is designed for light bicycle use and does state that it is not suitable for e-bikes.

A Sur-Ron LBX is much heavier and more powerful than a standard bicycle, so it will generate far more heat and braking force. With Magura MT5 / MT7 brakes, it will wear through softer compounds very quickly and may not give the performance or durability needed.

For a Sur-Ron LBX, we would recommend looking at our Enduro Pro Ultimate or Sintered brake pads instead. The Enduro Pro Ultimate will offer stronger braking performance and better heat resistance, while the Sintered option will be the most durable, although it can be noisier.

Swapped these out on a recent trip to the Alps. They did exactly what they said they would. Much better heat management, non fade on long descents, much better than the original ones I had in. Think these will be my go to pads from now on.

That is exactly what our Enduro pro Ultimate disc brake pads are designed for better heat management, stronger control on long Alpine descents, and consistent braking performance when standard OEM brake pads can start to fade.

The Alps are a proper test for any mountain bike brake pad, especially with repeated heavy braking, steep descents and high rotor temperatures, so it’s great to hear they performed exactly as expected on your trip.

Sorry to hear you’re disappointed with the pads. The Factory Racing Stealth compound is actually designed specifically to reduce vibration resonance and run quieter than most performance compounds, so what you’re describing normally points towards an inconsistency elsewhere in the braking system rather than the pad material itself.

Even with the calipers freshly aligned, issues such as uneven piston movement, contamination, old fluid, rotor transfer layers, or trapped air in the hydraulics can still create noise. Water, cleaning products, or residue on the rotor can also exaggerate this further.

Can you send us a few photos of the rotor surface and the pads currently fitted? We’ll have a proper look and help get this sorted for you.
